I just checked Bravo and at 5 PM today, Thursday, Caesars has six 1/2 NLH games going. The $2 an hour comp and 34 tier credits per hour is worth it to an everyday profitable player. Those jackpots suck a lot of money out of the poker economy and cause the losing players to bust out sooner than they should. It's good to see they don't have bad beat jackpots. So the 4 on 80 rake is pretty good in today's live poker games.if that's what Caesar's is still doing. In the 4 on 40 game if you win a $40 pot you get charged $4. The difference is in the 4 on 80 game you can drag a $59 pot and only get charged $2. With a 4 on 80 rake they rake $1 on a $20 pot, $2 on a $40 pot, $3 on a $60 pot and $4 on an $80 pot. With a 4 on 40 rake they rake $1 on a $10 pot, $2 on a $20 pot, $3 on a $30 pot and $4 on a $40 pot. There's a big difference between that and raking $4 on $40, a 10% rake. That is, if they are still raking $4 on $80, a 5% rake.
It's good to see they've held the line on the rake.
About 10 years ago a buddy took me on a 4 day room comp to Caesar's Palace.
